Musical superstar John Legend joins returning coaches Kelly, Adam and Blake as they begin their search for the best voice in America on the first night of Blind Auditions, competing against each other to add undiscovered vocal artists to their teams.

The artists take the stage for the Battle Rounds! The coaches enlist Charlie Puth, Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn, and Khalid to prepare their artists for a dueling duet. Winning artists proceed to the brand new round, the LIVE Cross Battles.

The winner of each Cross Battle is revealed, with 8 artists advancing to the Top 24 via America’s vote. Each coach then has 10 seconds to decide live if they want to push their button to save or steal an artist. Each coach has only 1 save and 1 steal to use in both Cross-Battle result shows.
The Top 24 artists perform in front of the coaches for their chance at a spot in the Top 13.
After America votes 8 artists through, 4 more are saved by the coaches. The “Fifth Coach,” Bebe Rexha, supports the final 2 Comeback Artists as they perform live for a chance to choose their coach and round out the Top 13.
The Top 13 artists perform for their chance at a spot in the Top 8 semifinals. This week’s theme is “Fan Week” with artists performing songs selected by fans.
After 7 artists are revealed as safe by America’s votes, the bottom 3 artists compete for the Instant Save and 2 are eliminated.

Three artists move on and three more compete in the Instant Save for the final spot in the finale.
In the final phase of the competition, the final four artists perform three times, including one new solo cover, a special duet with their coach, and their first original single.
It is revealed who America has chosen to be the winner; chart-topping artists perform and collaborate with the four finalists; fan-favorite past contestants perform.
