And when rule-avoidant "freedom" activists come together in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, incoherent ideology and cognitive dissonance rears its ugly head.

Episode One: The Movement

What began as a one-off conference to promote anarchy became a full-on annual event, attracting an international array of libertarians, fugitives, and families--all attracted to the idea of absolute individual self-rule. Unfolding over the course of six years, this six-part docuseries chronicles this movement that led to a strange and ultimately deadly series of events.

Episode Two: Forking Freedom

As crypto-currency becomes the centerpiece of the second Anarchapulco, young veteran Paul Propert and Chicagoan Jason Henza each make the trek south to join the community. Soon, a crypto boom creates a dividing line between instant millionaires and those who missed the bus, prompting Lily and John to create their own, less formal anarchist conference – “Anarchaforko.”

As the fourth Anarchapulco conference approaches, conflicts continue to mount behind the scenes as Nathan clashes with Jeff. Then, Paul’s escalating anger threatens to harm the community.

Episode Four: Living Without the Law

A shocking murder rocks Anarchapulco, leaving the community wondering if the perpetrator was one of their own. Then, Lily opens up about her childhood trauma, and Lisa and Nathan start their own conference focused on healing.

As Lily and John’s family mourn his death, John’s past reveals dark and difficult experiences that contributed to his disdain for government. Then, accusations of a fraudulent crypto scheme—and another shocking death—leave the community reeling once more.

As their dream of an anarchist paradise crumbles, the Anarchapulco community begins to question the viability of their principles.
