In Southern Africa, the spring starts in September and the natural world stirs into life. As the days get longer, animals make an effort to reproduce.
Summer in Africa is a season of extremes, it separates the weak from the strong. It tests the survival instincts of cheetahs, lions, geckos, turtles and many more species as they search for food and water in the extreme heat of summer.
Autumn in Africa brings opportunities; cape fur seals, Samango monkeys, chameleons, impala, and more respond to the season; autumn triggers changes in the lives of many animals; rare creatures reveal themselves and predators gather to take advantage.
Winter in Southern Africa brings drought, ice and storms; the animals that live here must compete with the weather, the land and each other; cheetahs, seals, vultures, and meerkats; rains finally end the dry season and trigger a burst of life.
